Participant information statement You are asked to participate in this research because of your visit to Dialogue in the Dark, Melbourne. This survey is being undertaken on behalf of a client, Guide Dogs Victoria. Your response will be highly valued and will form a significant part of the study. Participant information statementThe purpose of this project is to update research to better understand visitors’ perceptions of people who are blind and the Dialogue in the Dark experience. Participation in the survey is completely voluntary. In order to participate you must be aged 18 years or older. You have the opportunity to withdraw from participating in the project by not responding. Consent will be obtained by you clicking the “I agree” button below and then completing the survey. There are no disadvantages, penalties or adverse consequences for not participating or for withdrawing prematurely from the research. In addition, there are no risks, discomforts or harm, which may result from participation in the project. There are no correct answers and your answers will remain completely anonymous, so please respond as openly as possible. Some personal information like gender and age will be collected but only in broad categories and will not be used to identify anyone. The data collected will be treated with strict confidentiality and only the client and my research team will have access to the data provided. The results of the statistical analysis will be presented in a final report to GDV. Information provided by you will be stored on a password protected computer, for the duration of the study. The raw data will be strictly controlled by the university confidentiality guidelines. Thank you for participating in the survey.
